Gathered along the shoreline of Alcova Lake in Wyoming with cherished friends, we experienced the magic of the universe as we witnessed the totality of the solar eclipse.
This first photo shows the darkness of totality which occurred at 11:42 am. Note especially that the sun is black and only the corona is shining.
We needed those special glasses to see the eclipse as it developed until that moment when the moon was completely in front of the sun and then you could not see anything through the glasses and had to take them off to see the effects during those two and a half minutes of totality.
Sue took amazing pictures using her telephoto lens:

The cooling temperature, rapidly diminishing light, a totally darkened sun, and the diamond ring corona were profound, inspirational, and something we will never forget.
beautiful and blessed!
