When Sue first suggested, months ago, that we stay overnight in Liverpool at a place called “Hard Days Night Hotel”, I just laughed and said ‘no way.’ But when she also told me that it was endorsed by Rick Steves, I said ‘go for it.’ I’m so glad we stayed here. What a great way to get immersed in the Beatles with posters and music everywhere. The hotel is right next to the Cavern Club where the Beatles played hundreds of times before they became famous…
So the local boys, their Beatles, are everywhere in this town. It’s almost like a religious homecoming to Mecca for some people. The Cavern Club is 3 floors underground, with two stages, very loud, and rebuilt to how it was in the earlier days.

We wanted to get a tour of the Beatles boyhood homes and hear the story from a local guru, so we signed up for the Beatles Fab Four Taxi Cab Tour, and were driven around in a taxi for over three hours with great descriptions, stories and a binder of additional old pictures to increase our education. Here’s our guide, Eddie, in his cab at Penny Lane:

We decided to dedicate a page to our pictures of that tour, so please click on Beatles on the top menu link of our blog, or use this URL to directly see this web page, or share it with others.

We highly recommend a taxi to get a tour, as they get you out of the cab at 10 full locations, where as the mystery tour bus onlynndrops you off at three places. so we highly recommend this particuoar taxi cab company!

Hi Ted-O,
Wow, all this Beatles’ stuff makes the Rip Chords look a little small! LOL 🙂 Honestly, this information and pictures were great! Thanks.
I’ve been following all your posts . . . they have been wonderful!
Cheers,
Ernie 🙂
