In this pic we are standing in the middle of the largest sanctuary
ever built. It is awe-inspiring and filled with treasures. St.
Peter's is holy ground for Catholics and Protestants alike. St. Peter
is entombed here. The Egyptian obelisk that was in the square, where
St Peter was crucified upside-down, was moved into the square outside
this magnificent building to again stand at attention here. What
history. The Pope, linked back to Peter via the laying on of hands,
conducts mass and blessings here. What a connection of the current
day to the past.
