September 18th in Seattle was a most beautiful, blue sky day and we had the pleasure of seeing the city, without rain, on a Segway. Riding a Segway is really fun… seeing the sights with a guide taking us around in the fresh air, down the sidewalks and streets, while learning the history and intricacies of the neighborhoods ofndowntown Seattle.
We learned about, and explored: the Waterfront, Underground, World’s Fair Park, Public Market at Pike’s Place, Ferry buildings, the Klondike Gold Rush, and the great fire.
We also rode public buses, and the ‘Link’ light rail – to get there. On the way, we met with a friend from our high school and college days Youth group, Pat Poplin, and enjoyed breakfast together and conversation.
And at the end of the day, we enjoyed crab cakes and a rub-with-love salmon dinner at Etta’s on Western street near the market.
The bus ride back even gave us a nice view of Lake Washington.
Indeed, it was a fine day in Seattle, but we’re not sleepless.
