We cherished our time with the Nielsens and it was difficult to leave them this morning. Our two day ride home is 1,228 miles, and we covered half of that today traversing through three states: Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada. We plan to stop in Elko tonight by 6 pm so that we can see at least some of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. It’s a bit toasty today and the current temperature is 101 degrees. Good thing we are getting a hotel room tonight rather than camping in our tent trailer! Here is a photo of the salt flats in Utah.
