OK, we are going on a trip. This blog is a way to share some thoughts. I hope it’s inspirational, or amusing. It’s packing night. Sue is definitely a better packer than me. In fact, she is better in anything that requires thoughtful preparation. Me, I usually get things done just in time, with enough to satisfy the requirement plus a little more. The exception is when a project is top shelf. Then I’ll go all out. Sue made the flight reservations and all hotels. I’m grateful. But at least I did a little bit of work too. The car reservations were mine. So was the train, and first class at that! Not like that coach seats on the airline. (You can tell, we’re gonna have fun, eh?!) But back to packing, I’m trying to do Europe without checking a bag. yep. Soft carry on only. Sue could have done it as well, but we wanted a checked bag with hard sides and locks and all that stuff that makes you feel safe and secure, even though in reality you are not. I’ve watched enough movies.
But this will be a vacation of a lifetime. It’s the first time for us to see Europe together, on a vacation. I took her to Ireland during a work trip a decade ago. She took me to London on her work trip, before our sons were born. So for both of us to relax and have fun together will be great. We deserve a trip like this. We’re each other’s best friends. It will be fun. I’m smiling already.
