The final two days of our trip were in London, and we got out of our B&B habit, to stay in the very hearts of things, in a hotel on Piccadilly, right across the street from Green Park – central to everything a tourist would want.

DAY 1:
We rode the tube.
We rode a red double-decker city bus.
We saw Buckingham Palace.
We had tea with Prince William and Kate.

We toured Westminster Abbey (above pic) the largest indoor graveyard in the world. Here it is from five miles away.

Ted next to Methodist Hall, the Wesley answer to Westminster Abbey. And…
We walked more sidewalks.
We jaywalked with the locals.
We had a wonderful dinner with the daughter of our neighbors:
Gwen Loomis & husband, Paul
Waddell.

DAY2:
We walked more sidewalks, took a bus. Then we walked over the Golden Jubilee (Millennium) Bridge to ride the Eye Ferris wheel. Look at the views we saw!

We had a pint in the Sherlock Holmes pub.
I can’t fib, we didn’t have tea with William, nor Kate, nor the baby.
We visited Notting Hill.
We had fun.
Did I mention that we walked a lot? And we never called on one of those cute English taxis.

We tried to get into the Book of Mormon show via daily the 5:30 raffle, but did not win.
So, we bought tickets for The Jersey Boys, and got row 5, right in the center! Then…
We had dinner at the Three Greyhounds waiting for the show.
At 7:30 we enjoyed the stage show, and thought of our friend, Ernie, of the Rip Chords.
Alas, we did not see Los Altos United Methodist Church’s Starfire musical group, which is in town, because their concert is tomorrow night, and we fly home nine hours before that.

Our three weeks touring through Ireland, Wales, and England is now coming to a close. We leave to take the Tube to Heathrow in seven hours. Our holiday time was far more than we could have hoped or imagined, and our hearts overflowed with gratitude many times! Stay tuned for our ‘Best of the Best’ summary list in our final blog of the trip.
