Lightning, booming thunder, and cloudbursts of rain greeted us in the early morning for two hours but cleared when we rose to start the day. A scrumptious breakfast at Jimmy’s Down The Street was followed by leisurely shopping and walking around town. We visited with a friend, Cricket, and her husband, Mark, for a delightful walk to Higgins Point overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene. Our sunset kayak trip — complete with eagles, osprey, champagne toasts, and abundant serenity —topped off a beautiful day. Tomorrow we head to Glacier National Park but a piece of our heart will always remain in Couer d’Alene.
